What is Selfie Condolences?
A way to say something to a family who has lost someone, when you can't be there in person. You record a short video, leave a voice note, write a few lines, or share a photo. Every message goes to the family in one private place, and they keep it.
Can I use it right now?
No — not yet. We're building it, and we're opening it to a small number of families and funeral homes first. If you'd like to be one of them, ask for early access and we'll write to you when a place opens.
Is the person in the example real?
No. Eleanor "Nora" Whitcomb is a fictional example we created to show how a family's collection of tributes looks. She isn't a real person, and those aren't real messages. We label it on the page because we'd rather over-explain than let anyone think otherwise.
Will it cost anything?
Leaving a tribute is intended to be free for the person leaving it, always. During early access nothing is charged to anyone. Longer term we expect funeral homes to be the ones who pay, so that families and guests don't have to.
Who will be able to see what I record?
The family. That's the design: nothing is public by default, the family reviews each message privately before it appears anywhere, and they decide what to share and what to keep to themselves. When the product launches, the privacy policy will describe exactly how this works before you're asked to record anything.
Will I need an account?
Not to leave a tribute. Someone sends you a link, you open it, you say what you want to say. That's the whole point — asking a grieving friend to create a password is not something we're willing to do.
What if I don't want to be on camera?
Then don't be. A voice note, a written message, or a photo with a memory attached all carry the same weight. Plenty of people find the words easier to write than to say.
I'm a funeral director. How would this work for my firm?
The idea is that each family you serve gets their own branded tribute page and you get a simple dashboard to manage it — approve messages, and build a tribute reel to play at the service. It's in development. Ask for early access and say you're a funeral home, and we'll talk to you directly. We're building this alongside working funeral directors, so that conversation is genuinely useful to us.
How is this related to PartingPoint?
PartingPoint is the independent, verified directory for end-of-life services — the place families go to find and compare the providers they need. Selfie Condolences is by the same people, and it's the part that comes after: the goodbyes themselves.
